Sell Ores August 15, 2026 How-to-Play Update
Tutorial revamp, Diary Rewards rework, RELEASE and EXPANSION codes.
On August 15, 2026 The Ore Drillers shipped a beginner-friendly update to Sell Ores. The patch revamps the tutorial, reworks the Diary Rewards panel and drops the RELEASE and EXPANSION codes that are still active in the redeem box. This page walks through every change in the August 15 update.
Tutorial revamp
The tutorial used to run for about five minutes and skip over the Ore processing and Pet fusion loops entirely. The August 15 patch rebuilt it from scratch and now runs through every core mechanic in order:
- Roll your first Ore.
- Place it into a slot.
- Wait for the processing timer.
- Sell the finished Ore.
- Upgrade your Drill Level.
- Hatch your first Pet from an Egg.
- Claim your first Diary Reward.
The tutorial now takes around seven minutes but it teaches the entire core loop in one sitting. New players who finish the updated tutorial hit Floor 2 roughly a day earlier than before.
The Getting Started guide was rewritten to match the new tutorial flow. The Beginner Strategy guide was updated with the new shortcut for the Diary Rewards panel.
Diary Rewards rework
The Diary Rewards panel was reworked to feel less random:
- Daily Cash — A flat 1,000 Cash per claim, up from a random 200-600 range.
- Daily Small Growth Gem — 20% chance per claim, up from 10%.
- Weekly Devil’s Growth Gem — 100% on day 7, up from 50%.
- Milestone Bonus — Every 14 days, a guaranteed Devil’s Growth Gem.
The rework means a player who claims Diary Rewards every day for a week now earns an average of 1.4 Small Growth Gems and a guaranteed Devil’s Growth Gem, compared to 0.7 Small Growth Gems and a 50% Devil’s Growth Gem before. The change unlocks Pet fusion chains roughly a week earlier than before.
The Best Pets page was updated to reflect the faster unlock.
Code drops
The August 15 update shipped two new codes that are still active at the time of writing:
- RELEASE — 500 Cash for new accounts that need a small starter boost.
- EXPANSION — One Small Growth Gem to extend a base.

Other changes
- The Roll machine on Floor 1 now displays a “recommended band” hint for new accounts.
- The Pets menu gained a “fusion preview” panel that shows the output Pet rarity before you commit Cash.
- A handful of UI polish bugs were fixed, including the gear menu occasionally failing to open on mobile.
