Sell Ores Best Ore Rolls by Floor
Which Ore to chase on every Floor, ranked by roll cost vs return.
Sell Ores has seven Roll bands, one per Floor, and the Ore you should chase changes at every tier. This tier list walks through the best Roll target on every Floor so you know which Ore to slot into your Roll machine — and which Ores you should ignore until you have a bigger Cash buffer. If you are new to the game, finish the Getting Started guide first; the roll math below assumes you have cleared Floor 1.
How Roll math works
Every Roll on Sell Ores costs Cash. The cost scales with both the Floor tier and the Ore rarity. A Mythic Roll on Floor 5 costs roughly 10x what a Rare Roll on Floor 2 costs, and the Ore you get back may not be worth the spend. The optimal Roll target on each Floor is therefore the Ore that earns the most Cash per minute of waiting — not necessarily the rarest Ore you can roll.
The three variables that drive the math:
- Roll cost — what you pay when you tap the Roll machine.
- Processing time — how long the Ore sits in a slot before it sells.
- Sell value — how much Cash the Ore drops when processed.
A Cheap Roll + fast processing almost always beats an expensive Roll + slow processing for mid-game players. The Mythic Rolls at the top of the game only become worth it once you have unlocked Floor 7 and stacked enough Pet multipliers to offset the processing time.
Floor 1 — Common Ore roll band
Best target: Copper Ore (Common).
Floor 1 only rolls Common Ores. The cost is roughly 50 Cash per roll and the highest-value Common (Coal) sells for about 250 Cash. The optimal play here is speed — Roll as fast as your Drill allows, slot every Copper and Coal Ore, sell them the instant they finish processing. Do not chase Mythic Rolls at this tier because the Roll machine will not drop them.
The Floor 1 Recommended Band hint was added in the August 15 update — see the August 15 how-to-play update for the patch notes.
Floor 2 — Rare Ore roll band
Best target: Iron Ore (Rare).
Floor 2 rolls Iron, Amber and Topaz Ores. Iron processes the fastest, so it wins on value per second. Amber and Topaz both sell for slightly more Cash per Ore but they take longer to process. If you want the highest absolute Cash gain, chase Topaz. If you want the best loop, chase Iron.
The Floor 2 recommended buffer is 15,000 Cash — see the Floors & Unlocks guide for the unlock math.
Floor 3 — Epic Ore roll band
Best target: Solar Coal (Epic).
Floor 3 rolls Solar Coal, Magmaite and Aurora Quartz. Solar Coal processes the fastest of the three and pairs with the Drone 1 automation slot that also unlocks on Floor 3. The Drone 1 will roll Solar Coal every five minutes, so make sure your processing speed is high enough to keep up.
Magmaite and Aurora Quartz are both stronger on absolute sell value. If you are pushing for the Mega Ore fusion on Floor 4, stockpile two of each Epic Ore and feed them into the fusion station. The Walkthrough guide covers the Mega Ore math.
Floor 4 — Mega Ore fusion band
Best target: Fossil Ore (Mega-Tier).
Floor 4 unlocks the Mega Ore fusion station, which combines three Epic Ores into a single Mega-Tier Ore. The Fossil Ore is the best Mega-Tier output because it carries a +20% Cash bonus when slotted alongside Rare Ores, and the processing speed is the fastest in the Mega-Tier band.
Stockpile three Solar Coal Ores, trigger the fusion, sell the Fossil Ore for ~25,000 Cash. The fusion has a 12-hour cooldown, so plan around the timer.
Floor 5 — Mythic Ore roll band
Best target: Voidshard Ore (Mythic).
Floor 5 unlocks Mythic Rolls. The band drops Gargantuan, Voidshard and Solarite Ores. Voidshard wins on value per second after the August 22 processing buff. Solarite wins on absolute sell value if you are willing to leave the game overnight. Gargantuan is the most common roll but it sits in the middle of the band.
The optimal Mythic Roll strategy is:
- Roll Voidshard first when you have the Cash buffer.
- Fall back to Gargantuan if Voidshard does not drop within five rolls.
- Save Solarite for overnight processing.
The Walkthrough guide recommends Voidshard for any player who can roll it after Floor 5. The Best Ores page has the full per-ore breakdown.
Floor 6 — Mega Ore batch band
Best target: Magma Ore (Mega-Tier batched).
Floor 6 unlocks the batch fusion station, which combines three Mega Ores into a single batched Mega Ore worth ~250,000 Cash. The Magma Ore is the best batch output because it pairs with the Magma Cub Pet for an extra 14% multiplier.
The batch has a 24-hour cooldown. Plan your Mega Ore stockpile around the timer — two Fossil Ore cycles + one Magma Ore cycle is the recommended recipe.
Floor 7 — Fuser / Ascended Ore band
Best target: Ascended Voidshard (Mythic + 3 Fuser cycles).
Floor 7 unlocks the Fuser machine. The Fuser takes two duplicate Mythic Ores and produces a single Mega-Tier ore with a 30%+ multiplier over the base sell value. Three Fuser cycles ascend the Ore to its top tier.
Ascended Voidshard is the highest-value Ore in the game for value per second. Ascended Gargantuan wins on absolute sell value. Prismatic rolls from the Fuser bonus output can hit a 4x multiplier on top of the base Mega-Tier value — see the Mythic Ores tier list for the full Fuser math.

What to skip
The biggest mistake mid-game players make is chasing Ores above their Floor. Do not roll Mythic-tier Ores until you have cleared Floor 5 — the Roll machine will not drop them and you will waste Cash on Rare-tier bands instead. Likewise, do not push for the Fuser before Floor 7 because the machine is locked behind the Floor 7 unlock.
The Best Ores page has the full per-ore breakdown. The Mythic Ores tier list covers the Ascended and Prismatic endgame math.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which Ore should I roll on Floor 2?
Iron Ore is the best Rare Ore to roll on Floor 2 because it processes the fastest. Roll Iron if you want the best loop, or Topaz if you want the highest absolute Cash gain.
What is the best Mythic Ore to roll?
Voidshard Ore. The August 22 buff cut its processing time by 20%, which pushed it into S-tier on value per second for the first time in the game's history. See the [Mythic Ores](/tier-list/mythic-ores-tier/) page for the Fuser math.
How does luck affect my rolls?
The Luck upgrade increases the chance of a higher-tier Ore drop from your current Floor's band. It does not unlock Ores from higher Floors — you still need to clear the Floor before the Roll machine will drop them.
Should I roll Ores or save Cash for Floor unlocks?
Always clear Floors in order before chasing bigger Rolls. The [Floors & Unlocks](/guides/floors-and-unlocks/) guide covers the unlock math and the recommended Cash buffer for each transition.
Do scripts change the Roll math?
Scripts can automate the Roll and processing timers, which lets you run the loop overnight. They do not change the underlying drop rates. The [Auto Roll script](/scripts/auto-roll/) is the most popular Roll-focused tool.
