Sell Ores Drones & AFK Guide

Sell Ores advertises the loop in the Roblox description: you will not get kicked for being AFK, and your base earns offline. Drones are the workers that make that promise true. They break placed ores, ferry crates, and keep regeneration moving while you are in another experience or asleep. This page covers when the first drone unlocks, what to upgrade, and how AFK interacts with Time Skips, Diary claims and the Fuser.

If you only remember one rule: empty slots earn nothing. A drone cannot mine an ore you never placed. Fill the floor, then go AFK. The Getting Started loop (Roll → Place → Process → Sell) still applies; drones just run the middle of that loop without you tapping.

When drones unlock

The first dedicated drone slot arrives with Floor 3, together with Epic ores. Earlier floors still have basic mining hardware — the tutorial Drill — but Floor 3 is when a second worker starts covering a Roll on a timer (about every five minutes if you leave it on). Later floors add more drone capacity as you pay the unlocks listed on Floors & Unlocks.

Upgrade the drone the same way you upgrade Drill and Ore Speed: small Cash sinks that compound. A faster drone on a Rare Iron beats a parked Mythic you never process. Put drone levels after Drill Level 5 and Ore Speed 5, not before — the Money Making order still wins.

AFK and offline earnings

Roblox will not boot you for standing still in Sell Ores. You can park the character in the base, mute the client, and let drones work. Offline progress continues after you leave the experience, which is why a filled Floor 4 base overnight often out-earns an active Floor 2 session of frantic rolling.

AFK is not a substitute for claiming systems that need a click:

• Diary Rewards still need a daily claim — see Diary Rewards.
• Fuser cooldown ticks while you are away, but you must start the cycle before you log off — see Pet Fusion.
• Promo Time Skips are inventory items. Redeem them when the base is full so the skip hits real timers. Active Codes explains why burning SORRYFORDATA on Floor 1 is a waste.
• Growth Gems from the Gear Shop start the moment you confirm. Do not pop Devil’s or Super while half the slots are empty and you are about to close the app.

How to set up an overnight base

1. Unlock at least Floor 3 so a drone is actually working.
2. Fill every slot with the best ore your Floor can sustain. Prefer Fast Rares over unpaid Mythic dreams — Best Rolls by Floor.
3. Spend leftover Cash on Drill, Speed, then drone upgrades. Luck can wait.
4. Start a Fuser cycle if you can spare the feed ores.
5. Claim Diary if it is ready so the next 24-hour timer starts while you sleep.
6. Leave. Do not sit in the Trade Hub hoping for a gift; scams are covered on Trading.

In the morning, sell processed crates, refill slots, and only then roll. Players who log in and mash Roll with a full inventory just delete drone work.

Drones versus Time Skips versus gems

Drones are the passive labour. Time Skips are a fast-forward on eligible timers. Growth Gems are a short burst of regeneration. Use them in that order of daily importance. A maxed drone setup with no skips still prints Cash. A 24-hour skip with no drones and three Common slots prints almost nothing.

The free skip on the Group Rewards page is a one-time (or rare) bonus after you join the group and like the game. Treat it like a small Time Skip code, not like a second drone.

Mistakes

• Going AFK on Floor 1 with two Coppers placed.
• Upgrading Luck instead of the drone once Floor 3 is open.
• Popping a Large Growth Gem and then leaving before the 10-minute window ends — you paid for burst you did not watch, which is fine if slots were full, and tragic if they were not.
• Assuming offline earnings include unclaimed Diary or unredeemed codes. Those need a session.
• Using a script to click faster than the drone already does. If you go that route, read the Scripts Hub safety notes and keep it off your main.
